Deepa Gurnani
Deepa Gurnani Jewelry was dreamed and conceived out of the passion of husband and wife Deepa and Jay Lakhani. Both Deepa and Jay have a long and impressive history in fashion. Deepa studied fashion at London's Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Deepa worked on and beaded couture pieces for several fashion houses including Alexander McQueen, Fendi and Emanuel Ungaro. Jay, a jewelry designer, began his training at FIT in NYC and worked and trained with head designers at both Tiffany and Bvlgari.
After Deepa and Jay married in 2005, the two designers decided to collaborate and launch their own fashion jewelry line, Deepa Gurnani. Combining their talents of embroidery and jewelry, they set out to create a line of unique and distinctive jewelry and accessories. In 2016, after years of success the couple recognized and saw the need for a second more accessible line of fashion jewelry and "Deepa by Deepa Gurnani" was created. Both lines of fashion jewelry offer the highest quality standards and ethics in workmanship.
Each piece by Deepa Gurnani is created by hand in India using embroidery techniques passed down from generation to generation. Each piece of jewelry is checked at least three times before leaving the factory as quality and finish are as important as the design of the pieces.
